Seriously? Apparently being fit is a detriment to Obama

Thanks to Omnivore for bringing this absurd article to my attention. Apparently there are people who don't want to vote for Obama because he's too fit and healthy. The full article is here.

I don't care what you're politics are, picking or not picking a candidate because of his fitness level, particularly if that fitness level is high, is one of the silliest things I've ever heard of. If you don't want to vote for Obama, then please come up with a better reason than that!

I love food, and I eat plenty of it, but obviously it's important to eat in moderation and take good care of yourself, too. I'm not willing to give up sweets, so I've had to amp up my exercise regimen to balance it all out. Obama may be missing out on ice cream and other sweets, but I hope he's not really missing out on obese people's votes because of his fitness level. Is there really such a thing as being anti-thin?

These idiots are probably the same kind of people who refer to themselves as "gravitationally enhanced" and scream discrimination when a very fat person is asked to pay for 2 seats on an airplane.

Being overweight may have many causes, but I reject the idea that obesity ever be accepted as normal, or that those who have self-control (or perhaps just good genes) should be looked down upon. What is this country coming to?
