The boyfriend and I are heading up to New York City this afternoon for a weekend of catching up with friends and scoping out the latest and greatest in NY dining. On tap for us tonight is Macondo, a take on Latin American street food from the owners of Rayeula. We love the latter restaurant and Latin goodies like arepas, empanadas and churros, so my expectations are high!
Next up is Yerba Buena in the East Village. This restaurant in Latin inspired, too, with a slightly more chi chi take on pan-Latin cuisine.
Our last stop will be Double Crown, from AvroKO, who also own Public, where the boyfriend and I had our first day. Sigh...oh the memories! I love the sound of Double Crown's quirky inspiration - British colonialism in the Far East. Should make for some intriguing fusion! And if AvroKO is true to form, I'm also expecting a stylish setting and beautiful people.
Can't wait to try out all of these new places, and I'll fill you all in on the details when I get home!
