What to do for New Year's? This is the first year in ages that I'm not traveling for the holidays, so the boyfriend and I have been tossing around ideas for New Year's. Expectations are always so high, and it's so rare that the evening actually lives up to the hype.
In fact, most of my New Year's memories end with some sort of disaster. Like the year my friend was too drunk to explain to the cabbie where she lived, and he turned around and kicked us out of the cab back at Park Tavern. Or the year that no one was manning the coat check at an LA warehouse, and it was a free-for-all in the unlit room to grab your coat if you could even find it. Yikes!
All of that said, we're likely to do something chill this year with little sister and her husband. We're thinking a low key dinner somewhere cool. We're leaning towards Shaun's at the moment, but here are some additional options.
