In addition to mountains of porcine delight, cold beer courtesy of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Ale Yeah!, and an impressive silent auction, festival goers can anticipate even more games, live music and shenanigans than ever before.
BaconFest will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 1 to 6 p.m. outside in the parking lots of Dad’s Garage Theatre in Inman Park. Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now for ages 21 and up at www.dadsgarage.com.
Games were designed with laughs in mind. They're manned by the Dad's Garage improv actors and include: Hunt an Improviser; the Wheelchair Obstacle Course; Hobo Wine Tasting; Name That Keanu Quote; Real Steel Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots featuring Hugh Jackman; an Insult Booth; a Compliment Booth; Awkward Conversations with Clint; and the Victorian Phone Sex Booth.
Local businesses like Whynatte, Diesel Filling Station, P'cheen International Bistro and Pub, and Pine Street Market have also jumped on board to provide tastings, activities, and special offerings for attendees.
Bacon, donated by the Vortex and cooked up by D.B.A. Barbecue is always the main attraction. This year all that porky goodness will be complemented by a live music line up that includes LaStrange Fantastic!, Factory, Freakout and Darling Norman.
As always, BaconFest’s silent auction is jam packed with items you never knew you absolutely had to have including a pair of round-trip tickets to anywhere Southwest Airlines flies; a Cancun vacation for four; and a Yacht Rock “Cruise Pass” that includes 6 pairs of tickets to upcoming shows. The last time I walked into a silent auction, I walked out with pilates classes, dinner/theater tix/hotel stay and a vacation to New Mexico, so watch out, it's hard to resist!
