Atlanta Food & Wine Festival Dinners

The second annual Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is coming up May 10-13. Once again food lovers and chefs from around the Southeast and beyond will pour into the ATL for a weekend of good eats and drinks and an all 'round celebration of, natch, food & wine!

There is too much going on during the festival to mention in just one post, so for today, let's focus on your dinner options.

Over the course of the weekend, there are 16 dinner/evening events. That's 16 chance to enjoy the thematic stylings of Atlanta's top chefs (think: Richard Blais, Ford Fry, and Kevin Rathbun) as well as some big names from around the region such as John Besh, Sean Brock, and Bryan Voltaggio.

Some dinners are already sold out - you snooze you lose! But fortunately there's still plenty to choose from. A few highlights:

Shepherd to Chef - EMPIRE STATE SOUTH (Midtown)
TALENT: Hugh Acheson (GA), Ryan Smith (GA), Tyler Brown (TN), Ashley Christensen (NC), Drew Robinson (AL) & Bryan Voltaggio (MD) with Brew Master Mike Gallagher (GA)

Across the region, Southern chefs are lovingly preparing lamb raised by dedicated producers. Six Southern chefs will inspire and delight diners as they pay homage to local lamb growers. This dinner is paired with craft beers; however, wine pairings may be available as requested.

TIME: 7:30pm
COST: $150.00 includes food, beverages, tax & gratuity

Oceans 6 - THE OPTIMIST (Westside Opening May 2012)
TALENT: Ford Fry (GA), Bryan Caswell (TX), Mike Lata (SC), Dean Max (FL), Brandon McGlamery (FL) & Norman Van Aken (FL) with Master Sommelier Kathy Morgan (DC)

Clooney, Pitt, Garcia, Pacino, Affleck and Damon have nothing on these fine chefs. Lovers of seafood and masters of Southern flavors and techniques, these chefs will delight diners with their favorite fish dishes from the Gulf and South Carolina coasts.

TIME: 7:00pm
COST: $150.00 includes food, beverages, tax & gratuity

International Influences of New Orleans - AF&WF POP-UP RESTAURANT (Midtown)

TALENT: John Besh (LA), John Currence (MS), Brian Landry (LA), Alon Shaya (LA) & sommelier Stephen Satterfield (CA/GA)

New Orleans is a special Southern city with a very peculiar history. It was once a place where Africans, both enslaved and free, and American Indians shared their traditions and intermingled with European settlers, resulting in a durable culture that continues to distinguish the city today. Four celebrated chefs with New Orleans roots will explore the French, German, Spanish and African flavors and the techniques that shaped New Orleans’ food traditions.

COST: $150.00 includes food, beverages, tax & gratuity
