Atlanta Restaurant Openings and Closings

Atlanta Restaurant Openings

Waffold, an all waffle restaurant, is now open in Morningside (1409 North Highland Ave.) in the former Burger Tap space. Enjoy not just the expected breakfast and dessert varieties, but also savory options Cajun fried chicken waffle or the Waffold burger. I'm not convinced this location (or this city for that matter) can sustain such a specialized restaurant, so get it while the getting's good! I've been craving fried chicken and waffles, so I'm so in.

Bone Lick BBQ from the barbecue gurus at P'Cheen opens Aug. 14 in West Midtown. Chef Mike LaSage will be serving all the faves from P'Cheen's Monday night barbecue, but is also offering new choices like homemade beef jerky and sausage, cured hams, specialty bacon, homemade sauces and more. I hear David Cross is an investor, so if you're really lucky you'll get a side of Tobias F√ľnke with your 'cue!

Eater Atlanta reports that Dancing Goats Coffee has opened in O4W as a pop-up location at the Ponce City Market until its permanent shop opens in 2014. They'll be serving pastries from Duck's Cosmic Kitchen, sandwiches and salads from Jay Swift of 4th & Swift, and coffee from Batdorf & Bronson.

Fifth Group's new seafood spot, Lure, opened in Mid-July in Midtown where Vickery's used to be. It's awesome, and a full article is soon to come, but suffice it to say for now, you should definitely go eat there asap.

Atlanta Restaurant Closings

What Now Atlanta reports Midtown's 5 Napkin Burger is already closing after just a year. My guess is it has something to do with not inviting me to the media preview...

Also from What Now Atlanta, Market at the Buckhead W is also set to be replaced with a new restaurant concept
