I'm fairly sure, I've never heard about a high-end Atlanta restaurant offering a Jewish holiday-specific menu. So a big mazel tov to 4th and Swift for being the first!
Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, begins next Tuesday night, Sept. 25 and ends at sundown on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Traditionally, Jewish people fast on this day, so breaking the fast at sundown is a much looked forward to meal.
Chef Jay Swift is offering a special three-course menu with highlights including house kippered Atlantic salmon with avocado cream cheese, toasted corn and pickled onion; crispy Brussels sprouts salad with North Georgia apples, crema, apple cider reduction and toasted pistachios; and Niman Ranch Prime Sephardic brisket with red beets, tiny potatoes, white cabbage and shaved horseradish. Dessert options include North Georgia apple blintz with burnt honey ice cream and chocolate pine nut torte with crème fraiche and muscadine. A lot better sounding than gefilte fish, right?
No special menu is complete without special beverage options, so 4th & Swift will be serving up a specialty cocktail called “Rosenfels” which features Ransom whiskey, lemon juice, sage-infused pinot blanc reduction and bitters.
The dinner is $39/person exclusive of tax and gratuity. So get your atoning on and then head out for a delectable sounding dinner!
