Atlanta Chefs Make James Beard Short List

imageThe shortlist for James Beard Awards came out today. See the complete list here. This is just a precursor to the finalist nominees to be announced on March 18 (check out Eater's livestream), and the winners will then be announced at the James Beard Foundation Awards on May 6, 2013 at Lincoln Center.


So who made the cut so far from Atlanta?


  • Best new restaurant - Cardamom Hill
  • Outstanding bar program - Holeman & Finch, The Porter Beer Bar
  • Outstanding chef - Anne Quatrano, Bacchanalia
  • Outstanding pastry chef - Aaron Russell, Restaurant Eugene
  • Outstanding restaurateur - Ford Fry, Rocket Farm Restaurants (The Optimist, JCT Kitchen, No. 246); Mike Klank and Eddie Hernandez, Taqueria del Sol
  • Outstanding service - Bacchanalia
  • Best Chef Southeast - Todd Richards, The Shed at Glenwood; Steven Satterfield, Miller Union; Billy Allin, Cakes & Ale
Let's hope Atlanta chefs get some much deserved recognition when the finalists are announced!
