Atlanta Oscar Night Celebrations & Menu Ideas

The Oscar's are on Feb. 24 this year. I'll probably watch at home with some popcorn, but if you're feeling more festive, there are some fun Atlanta goings-on:

10th & Piedmont Oscar Party

10th & Piedmont will show the Oscar's on a jumbo screen and offering food and drink specials. Starting at 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy the following specials:

  • Les Misérables French onion soup with house-made croutons and Swiss cheese ($6.50)
  • Golden fried chicken with buttermilk mashed potatoes, fried corn and house-made pepper gravy ($12)
  • Champagne ($3)
  • Red carpet punch ($7)
CinéBistro Oscar Party

Luxury theatre CinéBistro at Town Brookhaven celebrates Tinsel Town’s biggest night with an event starting at 5:30 p.m. Guests will be greeted with complimentary valet parking as they walk down the red carpet and have their Hollywood-style photos taken.

A cocktail reception in the lobby lounge, festively decorated for the celebration, will feature passed appetizers such as pork confit spring rolls, lamb lollis, bacon-wrapped dates and tuna wonton crisps served along with champagne and house-made red and white sangria. Before the main event begins, guests can celebrate the evening with live red carpet coverage on bar and lounge projectors and mingle with a Marilyn Monroe impersonator from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Guests will be ushered into the theater before the live broadcast of the awards beginning at 7 p.m. A three-course dinner will begin with the steakhouse salad served with a champagne vinaigrette dressing. A choice from three of executive chef Hector Gomez’s entrées will include a 6-ounce petit filet served “Oscar” style, bucatini with lobster and Chilean sea bass. The meal will conclude with a dessert sampler comprised of mini versions of CinéBistro favorites, including crème brûlée, Cinéful chocolate cake and deconstructed peanut butter pie. Finally, each guest will receive a celebrity-style swag bag upon departure.

Tickets for this exclusive red carpet event are $60 and may be purchased in advance or the night of the event at CinéBistro’s concierge desk. Guests must be 21 or older and have proper ID.
