How to plan an epic food-lover's trip across Spain

A food lover's guide to Spain

This article is a long time in coming. I visited Spain this summer and returned stuffed like an Iberian pig. Now I'm finally ready to dish on how plan your own food-centric trip to Barcelona, San Sebastian, Rioja and Madrid!

For context we visited in July and got a great deal flying into Barcelona on TAP, connecting in Lisbon (hello pastel de nata!) We were incredibly lucky that we just missed the heatwave and enjoyed more seasonable hot but bearable weather in Barcelona, Rioja and Madrid and downright pleasant 75-ish weather in San Sebastian.

Adventurous Tastes Food Lover's Spanish Itinerary

3 nights Barcelona
2 nights San Sebastian (Legazpi Doce Rooms & Suites)
1 night LogroƱo (Rioja) (Hotel Calle Mayor)
1 night Madrid (Only You)

I am a fanatical google maps maker. I use them to save all of the places I want to go, and I love that I can reference it when I'm out and about to see what else is nearby. Here's the Adventurous Tastes Guide to Spain complete with the "Adventurous Tastes" stamp of approval on anywhere I actually ate.

I will break out some specifics in follow up articles. First up, Barcelona!
