About Adventurous Tastes Travel

Hi, Iโ€™m Lindsey โ€” traveler, planner, and mom of two. I created Adventurous Tastes to share how we plan family trips that feel fun, well paced, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone traveling.

For us, great family travel is about more than checking sights off a list. Itโ€™s about how a place feels once youโ€™re there. That usually means walkable neighborhoods, thoughtfully planned days, and experiences that help us connect with local culture โ€” often through food. Cooking classes, market visits, and food tours have become some of our favorite ways to explore a destination as a family.

Kids are part of the adventure, but parents donโ€™t disappear from the story.

Why I Do This

My love of travel started early, inspired by a globetrotting aunt whose stories made the world feel both exciting and reachable. That curiosity turned into a lifelong habit โ€” 47 countries and counting.

When my husband and I started traveling with our daughters, I learned quickly that family travel works best when itโ€™s intentional. The right hotel matters. So does pacing. And so does choosing experiences that feel engaging rather than performative.

Some of our most memorable moments have come from things like making pasta together in Italy, wandering local markets, or sitting down for a long meal that welcomed kids without being designed only for them. Those experiences donโ€™t happen by accident. They happen when trips are planned with care.

That approach shapes everything youโ€™ll find here.

My Travel Experience

Weโ€™ve traveled widely as a family, from ziplining in Costa Rica to pasta-making in Tuscany, exploring cities on foot, joining market tours, and learning firsthand which experiences actually work with kids in tow.

Some trips have been smooth. Others have required flexibility. All of them have reinforced the same lesson: family travel is most rewarding when days are thoughtfully structured, and experiences are chosen with intention.

Those lessons inform every destination guide and itinerary on this site.
