We spent a week in Stowe this summer, and it was the perfect workcation destination. We could hike and ride our bikes on the lovely Stowe Recreation Path every day between conference calls and head out each night for a delicious dinner with the kids. Whether you’re visiting in summer like we did or hitting the slopes this winter, the restaurants in Stowe, VT, have something for everyone.

The hills are alive in Vermont with restaurants that combine tasty eats and craft beers. For a unique experience, head to Von Trapp Brewing Bierhall, founded by the von Trapps of The Sound of Music fame. The outdoor seating area offers a breathtaking setting. The lemon mapleade, pretzel, and chicken schnitzel were a few of my favorite things.

Piecasso: Pizza Pleasures

When it comes to satisfying your pizza and craft beer cravings in Stowe, Piecasso is the place to be. Conveniently located along the Stowe Recreation Path, it’s a family-friendly spot that dishes out delicious pies that nearly everyone we spoke to recommended.

Doc Ponds: Our Favorite Hangout

Doc Ponds was perhaps our favorite Stowe restaurant of all. The homemade chips and dip are addictive, the burgers are top-notch, and the fried chicken sandwich is a crowd-pleaser. With a relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for families to unwind.

Known for the famous Heady Topper beer, Alchemist Brewery is a must-visit for beer connoisseurs. I will admit I don’t like IPA beers, so I didn’t try it, but the hubs can vouch that this beer is worth the hype.
